How do I know which program is the best fit for me?

  • What program offers Math and Language support and is also fun and engaging for my child?

    • Perhaps your child has experienced academic setbacks during COVID. The After School Academy provides customized Academic tutoring for your child in addition to Visul Art and Music programming that further enforces Language and Math concepts. The program runs from 2:00 pm- 6:30 pm on Weekdays.

  • If my child already has weekday activities, are there any other opportunities for my child at CAFE?

    • Perhaps your child is unable to attend during the week but still wants tutoring and meaningful outlets for holistic development. The Saturday Academy offers a full day of activities, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm, including Academic Tutoring, ESOL, and SAT Prep Classes between 10:00am- 12:00pm. The Afternoon period is focused on Arts classes and Pillar Courses including Visual Arts, Music Theory & Performance on the Steelpan, Social Justice Programming, Creative Arts, Cooking and many other areas for Life Skills and creative development for your child.

  • Is there an option to do Music only on a Saturday?

    • Yes! For Elementary to Middle School children, Music Theory and Performance is offered from 3:00 -5:00 pm on Saturdays.

    • For Highschoolers, Music Theory and Performance is offered from 4:00 -6:00 pm on Saturdays

  • What is the Education and Family Support Program all about?

    • The EFS program was developed specifically in response to COVID and offers a range of programming for both students and families. These are offered in partnership with Elementary, Middle and Highschools in Prince George’s County and so you can often access this program through your school. If your school is not offering this program and yourself and other parents are interested in accessing this, please reach out to our Outreach Manager at lcameron@icafeyouth.org to discuss how we may be able to make this a reality.

    • The EFS program offers English as a Second Language; Yoga; Family Cooking, Health & Wellness Nights; Arts & Craft and much more.
