Astril Webb, MD: Mental Health Awareness

Dr. Astril Webb is a senior healthcare professional and global trainer with over 2 decades of senior-level experience with expertise in providing excellence in culturally competent care. As the President of Healthy Kinder International, LLC, and has developed and implemented effective culturally relevant health promotion and disease prevention training programs used in the most vulnerable and health disparate communities. As the former Director of Health and Family Services at North American Management, Dr. Webb served as the Director for the National Center for Health in Public Housing, a Health and Human Services Administration (HRSA) National Cooperative Agreement, where she provided training and technical assistance to all HHS funded health centers and clinics serving the nation’s residents in Public Housing across the US, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii. 
With profound expertise in eliminating health disparities and passion to address preventable health issues, she has spearheaded many initiatives around chronic disease and Mental Health prevention. She is a Human Rights Consultant with the US Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights and serves as one of the Partnership Committee co-chairs for Doctors for America. Dr. Webb is dually certified as both a Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor AND Adult Mental Health First Aid USA instructor under the National Council on Behavioral Health and identified by Maryland’s Mental Health Association as one of the top trainers in the State of Maryland. As a parent of two children at the Cultural Academy for Excellence, Dr. Webb has conducted numerous Youth Mental Health First Aid courses for CAFÉ board members, tutors, and staff; workshops for the elementary, middle, and high school students for both the Saturday Academy and After-school programs; and has provided Mental Health focused discussions for the Informational Video series.
