The Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Ms. Josanne Francis, M.M, has been promoted to the position of Executive Director of the Cultural Academy for Excellence (CAFE), Inc.

Ms. Francis is an educator and international performer and lists among her many accomplishments’ a 12-month tenure as Strathmore Artist in Residence (2017-2018); featured performer at New York City’s Carnegie Hall; and founder of the groundbreaking Steel on Wheels, Inc., music education program.

This position has the responsibility for running CAFE’s day-to-day operations and she will report directly to the CAFE Board of Directors. Her official start date was August 15, 2020.

Ms. Francis joined CAFE in July 2014, and served in various positions during her tenure, including Music Director, Artistic Director, and Director of Operations. One of the important credentials Ms. Francis brings to CAFE is her experience as a full-time instructor with the Prince George’s County Public School System’s International School, in Bladensburg, Maryland.

She is uniquely qualified to lead CAFÉ into a creative and innovative future.
