CAFE Presents
Saturday October 6th 2007 The Cultural Academy for Excellence recieved the Diaspora Award from the National Coalition on Caribbean Affairs. The organization thanks CAFE for "Providing Leadership and Academic Skills to At- Risk Youth Through the Mechanism of the Performing Arts".
The ceremony was held at the Holiday in Chevy Chase, Maryland and was hosted by CBS news anchor Maureen Bunyan. Ambassador Micheal King, Husband to CAFE board member Jaqueline King, gave the Keynote Address for the event. CAFE was honored to have Program Coordinator Liz Burton and husband Glen, as well CAFE parent (also known as grandma') Marlene Daniels and husband Ralph all in a attendance.
Awards were also presented for International Service and the Pinnacle Award.
We are all so proud of CAFE's achievements. Congratulations!
